TIRANA, June 14/ATA/- Germany supports Rama’s government and its reform efforts, and calls for internal political tensions not to spoil the so-called reform outcome, especially in justice system, the German Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas stated.
“Albania has made significant progress in the recent years and implemented bold reforms in the justice field, in the fight against organized crime and corruption. In particular, the justice reform has been a great exertion and it deserves recognition,” the German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas stated after the meeting with the Acting Minister For Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj.
German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maas underlined that,” these reforms should not remain in the shadow of political tensions, but Albania must keep on implementing further reforms, as they are of the benefit to citizens.”
“Conflicts should be resolved within democratic institutions,” Minister Maas stated, addressing to the Albania’s opposition.
“In our opinion, the boycott is the wrong way to protest,” he added.
“It would be for the common good if both parties would express their willingness to dialogue. All stakeholders must act responsibly, so that the Albanian democracy would have the chance to emerge stronger from this crisis,” Maas stressed, with regard to the current internal conflict between the majority and the opposition.//a.i/
