TIRANA, May 30 /ATA/ Minister of State for Relations with Parliament, also the spokesperson of the govt., Elisa Spiropali, stated from the podium of parliament that the positive recommendation from the EC for opening of accession negotiations not only confirms the European pathway of the govt. and Albania, but is also a mirror image of the real situation.
Spiropali says: The report points out that Albania has made an incredible progress in justice reform, launching a one of a kind reform which is incomparable and a role model for other countries in the region.
With the results achieved, Albania is viewed as a credible partner of EU.
Unlike what the extraparliamentary opposition claims, the progress report says that Albania and govt. in place have made an extraordinary effort to eradicate trafficking and cultivation of cannabis. It focuses on fight against corruption and a new approach adopted through the culture of law enforcement.
It says that opposition has played a destructive role in reforms, citing the boycott of parliament, burning of mandates and street violence. The opposition is named as the only problematic factor and setback for our European project, Spiropali says.
