TIRANA, May 24/ATA/-The U.S. Embassy in Tirana appealed to its nationals in Albania to be aware of Saturday’s opposition protest in Tirana.
Given that there is no confirmed script of how the protest will develop, the embassy called on its citizens to be careful. The embassy also referred to demonstrations in the past during which were registered even acts of violence.
“A large demonstration is expected to take place near the Prime Minister’s Office on May 25, 2019, beginning at 7:00 p.m. The group intends to demonstrate against the Albanian government and may move to different locations in Tirana. The duration of the expected demonstration is unknown. Recent demonstrations have included violence. Security forces have used water cannons and tear gas to disperse crowds”, writes the U.S. embassy in its press release./m.m/p.s./
