Ready to dialogue, but not negotiate on June 30 elections

TIRANA, May 14/ATA/- Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that, “There will be no negotiations on the local elections of June 30 because there is no opportunity of negotiating on the Constitution of Albania”.

Speaking at a press conference, PM Rama reminded the agreement of 2017, but even then, “We didn’t negotiate the Constitution of Albania”.

The head of government also said that he was speaking on behalf of the majority in the Parliament and in the people.

“I say, dialogue is irreplaceable in the process of political co-existence in a normal country and in a society still based on elections and the vote”, said PM Rama.

The prime minister emphasized that the opposition needs the dialogue today more than ever before instead of having wild celebration dreams of Saturday while the Albanian families want to rest or find a way to spend the weekend.

The prime minister emphasized that the opposition actions can replace the government only if they culminate into successful electoral campaigns. While the opposition marches of crackers can only bring about a reduction of supporters.

“They can do nothing to the government because the government has come out of elections”, said PM Rama./a.g/p.s./
