Postponement of elections, a violation of Constitution

TIRANA, March 14/ATA/-Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that, “postponement of the local elections set for June 30 would be a violation of the Constitution”.

Speaking at a press conference, the prime minister said that, “There are a thousand things to dialogue with the opposition, there are still things to be done, there are important reforms to be implemented. And he reminded that the opposition claims it isn’t looking for seats or power, but only a better Albania”.

Further on, the prime minister said that the opposition missed the June 30 opportunity.

But, the opposition is still in time for the general elections of 2021.

“It’s high time to sit and discuss on the electoral process so that to have better elections than before”, said the prime minister.

“We are open to unconditional dialogue. And I never place myself above the Constitution”, said the head of government.

“The elections are a competition and a challenge”, said PM Rama. /e.xh/ /a.g/p.s./
