Basha: Protest march against violence and bogus elections

TIRANA, May 13 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ “We stand up for an undeniable right written into our Constitution, the cornerstone of European values, free and fair vote,” DP head Lulzim Basha said in his address to the rally before PM’s office.

According to him, violence is the only remedy that Edi Rama offers. This is an illegitimate parliament, govt. and PM. For two years now, the prosecution has only one mission, reversing the investigation of criminal files. Violence against entrepreneurship, administration, unemployed and youths,” Basha said.

The aim behind this march, according to him, is to put it bluntly: We refuse the govt. violence and respond with our faith in European values, the power of unification and determination.

“State violence is the result of electoral violence, because it is the only way to retain power. We do not stand here for power, we stand here to oppose violence, crime and illegitimate government of crime. We are fighting a battle for constitution, law, dignity and freedom of any Albanian,” Basha said.

He added that this will be achieved through a caretaker govt.

In concluding, Basha called on protesters to continue their protest march stopping before key institutions such as : General Directorate of Police, Parliament, Interior Ministry and the Tirana Police Directorate.
