TIRANA, April 24/ATA/-A group of tourists from Croatia, mainly from arbëreshi people of Zara, i.e. Zadar, visited today Shkodra Municipality.
Shkodra Mayor Voltana Ademi received the guests at the hall of the Municipal Council and held a warm conversation with them.
Arbëreshi community in Zara was established about 300 years ago by Albanians who were displaced by different regions of Albania.
It was a rather special visit because many of the people who visited Shkodra have their roots precisely in this Albanian Northern region.
“This community is distinguished for the strong national links and cultivation from one generation to the other of the Albanian culture and language.
The visit can be considered the start of a potential cooperation between Shkodra Municipality and the Arbëreshi Municipality of Zara in Croatia, based on the relations that have resisted the centuries, is read in a statement of Shkodra Municipality./k.s/j.p/p.s./
