TIRANA, April 12 /ATA/ – “Reform in higher education and scientific research needs to be conducted in the spirit of an all embracing process.”
President of the Republic Ilir Meta attended on Friday the 10th anniversary of Albania’s Mediterranean University.
Meta emphasized the importance of promoting the climate of listening to one another in university, social and political life.
“We need to embrace critical thinking in order for our society to reflect and improve itself on a constant basis,” Meta said.
President said that the fair protests staged by students in December showed that current law on Higher Education is flawed.
According to him, enforcement of Higher Education law causes difficulty in guaranteeing the financial independence of public universities.
