TIRANA, April 11 /ATA/ – Minister of Justice Etilda Gjonaj has held a questions and answers session with the penitentiary system staff in Albania, pointing out that the prison staff need to be trained to be more professional in the exercise of their duty.
According to Minister Gjonaj, the recruitment and testing of employees will be done by the Security Academy to be followed by one- month training and practice in penitentiary institutions.
“Civilian staff, for the sake of truth, have been left out of the focus as these people are supposed to be prepared, and it is true, however they need to attend follow-up training programs. The initiative is also included in the legal package, so we have started its implementation which entails recruitment and initial training of prison police officers and then follow-up training. ”
