TIRANA, March 26 /ATA/ – The accommodation facilities for holiday-makers in our country have increased fourfold in the last 4 years.
Minister of Tourism and Environment, Blendi Klosi, during the ceremony of awarding the special status “Investor in 4-5 star accommodation facility” to Concord Investment for Melia Hotels brand and Tirana Business Park for MK Group brand, pointed out that the area of Berat alone has seen an addition of 1 thousand beds.
“The hotels in our country in the last four years have multiplied. It is a fact that in 2013 Albania saw 3 million foreign tourists per year, while 2018 saw 6 million tourists. It is a fact that in 2013 there were only 852 accommodation facilities. 1 thousand beds are added to the tourist destination of Berat in only 1 year which is further proof of concrete investments. We have decided to launch a perfect combination in the tourist destination, ” – emphasized Klosi.
According to Klosi, these investments will have an impact on employment and economy of the country.
“With investments comparable to Melias in quality and capacity, Albania will have genuine investments, which are managed all year round. They will create welfare, employment for entire Albania. Our efforts to attract investments in construction, as Linder group in Rinas airport, are a reality and a fact to see what we have done to achieve the target of 10 mln tourists,” – Klosi said. /e.caushi/sm/
