Rama: North Macedonia, a strategically irreplaceable state for Albania

TIRANA, March 13 /ATA/ A friendly and strategically irreplaceable state, this is how PM Rama has described the Republic of North Macedonia at the joint news conference after the meeting with his Macedonian counterpart Zoran Zaev, who is in Tirana on a one-day visit in Tirana.

Rama pointed out that this visit comes at the time of a major achievement, as Prespa agreement and the change of name to North Macedonia as well as the signing of NATO accession protocol are.

“You come to Tirana after a landmark achievement which is the fruit of your leadership and our common friend, PM Cipras, the Prespa agreement which broke a multi-year deadlock and paved the way for accession of North Macedonia into NATO, giving a lot of momentum for the common pathway to EU accession,” Rama stressed highlighting the fact that Albania was among the first countries to ratify the protocol of North Macedonia’s accession into NATO.

“To us, the Republic of North Macedonia is not merely a neighbouring country but a friendly and strategically irreplaceable and inalienable state with which we breed relations based on the best principles and values shared by us as countries belonging to Europe and aspiring to join the European family,” PM Rama said. /j.p/sm/
