FDI in Albania increased into 62% over first quarter

TIRANA, July 23/ATA/-Albania’s Minister of State for Protection of Entrepreneurship Sonila Qato stated on Monday that the foreign investors do not hesitate to come to Albania and that their number has increased.

During an interview on television, Minister Qato answered to questions raised on the media on Albania being at risk of reduction of the FDI after the two major energy projects (TAP and Devolli) will be completed.

Investments are on the increase, said she.

“During the first quarter of 2018, FDI increased into 62%. This implies that there is no hesitation by the foreigners. The foreign investments have not fallen and TAP gas pipeline is not the only investor and that doesn’t upset things”, said Qato.

The European Commission’s report issued few days ago gave positive assessment of FDI in Albania as compared with the countries of the region. /e.xh/ j.p/p.s./
