TIRANA, July 21/ATA/-The government of Albania has taken a decision that makes it obligatory for the food operators and businesses to declare on the label of the goods the food values and ingredients.
Beginning from the current year and on, the relevant subjects must abide by the above-mentioned criteria while by 2019 it will be imposed a ban on goods that fail to show on their label the origin of the raw material.
Thus, there will be avoided all attempts of abuse and it will be guaranteed a real tracing system on the food security of the products.
The government decision also aims to inform the Albanian consumer and build his confidence in the food market through declaring the features of food articles on the market.
The presentation of nutritional values of foods has been optional until today, while the new government decision makes it obligatory their presentation of the labels of the products.
The government aims to protect the consumers through offering to them detailed information on the contents of the product. /a.gjonaj/j.p/p.s./
