Pogradec – Tushemisht, parallel road with Ohrid Lake

TIRANA, July 19 /ATA/- Pogradec – Tushemisht road will be reconstructed as part of “Regional and Local Roads” program that is financed by the government of Albania and the World Bank and is implemented by the Albanian Development Fund.

Environmental and social assessment plans for the sub-project “Reconstruction of the road Pogradec-Tushemisht, Lot 1” will be presented in public consultation.

World Bank Albania announced on the Facebook that the public consultation will take place on July 31st in the premises of the Municipality of Pogradec.

The project due to be implemented in this important tourist spot in South-East Albania forecasts rehabilitation of all the infrastructure network and it also improves the segment with elements like bicycle lanes, pedestrian crossings, lighting and green areas.

According to the Albanian Development Fund, the new road is rather useful for the local residents, but especially for tourism. To visit the natural park of Drilon, the vehicles move through a parallel road to Ohrid Lake, while Pogradec Municipality plans to transform this parallel road into a pavement for pedestrians and reconstruct the proposed segment Pogradec-Tushemisht for the movement of vehicles./e.xh//r.e/p.s./
