TIRANA, June 20 /ATA/-Germany is convinced that Albania must open the EU entry talks although the decision of the EU Council of Ministers may be conditional.
Speaking in an interview to ABC News television, Rapporteur on Albania Knut Fleckenstein said that, “The important thing is that Albania has fulfilled the main pre-conditions for opening of the negotiations. This doesn’t imply that the work is over. There are still problems with organized crime and corruption. The justice reform is under implementation. Property issues, economic growth, employment and other criteria are all issues on which Albania needs to focus”, said he.
Fleckenstein added that almost all the main political groups in the European Parliament and the European Commission share the view that Albania has fulfilled the pre-conditions for opening of the negotiations. /m.m/ /a.g/p.s./
