TIRANA, June 12 / ATA- I. Vata /- The Albanian Interior Ministry launched the “Community Policing” initiative, aiming at engaging with communities to help develop solutions to the main goverment priorities, tourism progress and the fight against cannabis.
The Albanian Interior Minister, Fatmir Xhafaj held Tuesday a meeting with the prefects, the chief executives of the State Police in the General Directorate, the Local Police Directorates and the Police Commissariats, in the light of the public accountability tour.
Focusing on the tourist season, Minister Xhafaj emphasized that, the citizens, tourists as well as tour operators have high expectations.
During his speech, Minister Xhafaj announced increased measures for tourist season.
The State Police will take measures to respond to criminal activities in tourist areas as well as stabilize the road traffic.
Meanwhile, General Director of State Police, Ardi Veliu urged local police leaders and chiefs of commissariats to implement timetables and restrictions imposed by local government to prevent acoustic pollution.
