TIRANA, May 21/ATA/-Agri-tourism, with the programme of 13 villages, is a real opportunity of employment.
Prime Minister Edi Rama said during his accountability tour in Gjirokastra on Monday that this region has great potentials of development in the sector of agri-tourism.
He added that the government’s fiscal facilities are encouraging development of agri-tourism, which is a good way of development and employment, as well as of higher salaries than in the state sector.
“At present, there are more than 15 hotels and inns as compared to 2-3 that were few years ago. Things have changed. Gjirokastra is a border area and its people have lived on emigration. But, we must give it the opportunity of it standing by its own potential. If you look behind, it’s easy to notice the change. But, there is still a lot to be done.”
About 320 people have got employed over the last two months while the state sector remains the favourite.
Tourism is the source of wealth in Gjirokastra.
The government will support tourism. Thus, houses being transformed into inns will enjoy a package of support of 6% VAT, the same like the tax on four and five star hotels.
It needs some courage to start a business, but earn more money than by the job in the state sector, said PM Rama./r.e/p.s./
