Albania committed to strengthening ties with China

BEIJING, April 25 prill/ATSH – Albania needs to embrace opening-up to foreign investments including the Chinese ones which are very much welcome.

This is what the SP lawmaker, Vasilika Hysi, who is at the head of an Albanian parliament delegation on a three-day visit to Beijing and Tianjin said in an interview.
MPs from Albania had the opportunity to get a glimpse of Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area, which is important for attraction of foreign investments and promotion of innovations in Northern China.

“We tried, regardless of political parties we represent, to assert our parliamentary commitment.
Undoubtedly, the main responsibility for strengthening the relations and attraction of Chinese businesses falls within the scope of govt. and us as parliamentarians who can contribute through strengthening of legal basis, she said.

Hysi expressed her confidence that “16 + 1” and “One belt, one road” projects are a golden opportunity to use the free economic zones declared by Albanian govt. , as those of Spitalla, Koplik or Shëngjin, extending an invitation to Chinese investors to invest and work the miracles they have done in their cities.

Albania has just received an unconditional recommendation from the EU Commission for opening the accession negotiations.

The MP, Vasilika Hysi, said that Albania has made tangible progress, particularly in the field of legislation on foreign investments. She took the opportunity to invite Chinese businesses to invest in Albania and the Western Balkans in the framework of the 40th anniversary of China’s Reform and Opening-Up.

We are a country that has produced stability in the Western Balkans. We are a country that has made progress and are enticing foreign investors to come thanks to the reforms made in the field of legislation. On this 40th anniversary of China’s opening-up to foreign businesses and investments in other countries, such as Albania, I think that Albania would be a very good attraction for Chinese investments. And why not, we can see investments as of this year that coincides with the 40th anniversary, and more to come on the 70th anniversary of Albania-China bilateral relations.

Albania and China are part of the UN Agenda 2030 which, in addition to others, foresees reduction of poverty. China has decided to lift all its citizens out of poverty within 2020 and lawmaker Hysi pointed out that China should be held up as a role model for other countries.

I found the poverty alleviation policies pursued in various areas of China very interesting, and I think that Albania can implement these programs because we have many things in common and poverty exists everywhere in every country. Poor people need support wherever they live, especially in rural areas, where young people do not have access to vocational training, in areas rife with poverty. I think that it is a model that is worth promoting./CRI//m.m/sm/
