TIRANA, April 24 /ATA/- The large-scale operation “Let us clean up the earth we want” organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment has swept across our country for 7 days in a row as part of the cleanup of coastal areas, riverbeds as well as dumping grounds for urban waste over years.
The common mission for a clean Albania all across the country was joined by employees of prefectures, municipalities, Army troops, local and central govt. institutions, volunteers and numerous cities.
PM Edi Rama has published on Facebook account views of the cleanup operation in one of the country’s most stunning beaches, Kepi i Rodonit (Cape Rodoni).
“GOOD MORNING and with these views of the countrywide action for cleanup of the territory which on Earth Day has cleared the rubbish heaps from one of Albania’s most beautiful beaches, Cape Rodoni, I wish you well,” Rama pens.
Around 500 volunteers have joined Minister of Tourism and Environment, Blendi Klosi, in his ongoing effort to clean up one of the country’s most stunning locations, Cape Rodoni.
“The situation of Cape Rodoni is an example of how environmental crime affects rivers which later flow into the sea causing an unacceptable situation ahead of the tourist season,” Minister of Tourism and Environment said in his remarks.
He has forewarned zero tolerance for all perpetrators of environmental crime who do not abide by environmental permits and criteria.
Not only the inspectorate, but also the law-enforcement institutions will be more active and stringent after April 22, Klosi said.
From North to South Albania, thousands of tons of trash have been picked up as part of an ongoing cleanup action to bring back cleanliness in this country.
