TIRANA, April 13/ATA/-Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Friday that violence during proceedings of the Parliament has in its essence the opposition’s approach to justice hampering Albania’s EU integration.
The prime minister argued that since 2013 the opposition suffers from absence of leadership. “Hence, there is a tense atmosphere in the Parliament characterized by difficult situations that have no connection at all with the functioning of the Parliament, with what the citizens expect, let alone the example we must set. The scenes of the Parliament stimulate quite the contrary, aggressiveness, disorder and chaos”, said PM Rama.
In answer to the question on the European Commission giving a positive recommendation to opening of Albania’s EU accession negotiations on Tuesday and whether the domestic political situation will have any impact, PM Rama said that the opposition is afraid of the justice reform while it is enraged by the idea that a positive recommendation would be an added value in the eyes of the public to the current governance majority. However, the opposition is also aware that during a two-month period between the recommendation and the decision by the European Council there is plenty of time to trouble waters with such monstrous scenes that make us at ridiculous in the eyes of the world, said the prime minister.
Therefore, what is happening is a personal approach of the two opposition groups to justice, but even political because it gives a blow to Albania on personal grounds at the moment when the country needs them, too./r.e/p.s./
