TIRANA, April 3/ATA/-Every resident of the North-eastern city of Kukës and every regular user of the Nation’s Highway can benefit from the season ticket system and also contribute to maintenance of the road and additional investments in the road, said Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Damian Gjiknuri on introduction of the toll in the Nation’s Highway.
He said on Tuesday’s press conference that the government has already begun discussions on facilitating measures and the regular users of the road can benefit season tickets of a lower cost.
According to the minister, by 2013 the Albanian state had an available fund of 1.2 billion leks designed for maintenance of the roads, meeting only 18% of the country’s needs. “By 2017, we increased this fund by 3 times and so we have 3.2 billion leks”, said Gjiknuri.
Gjiknuri also emphasized that the government of Albania has envisaged since 2008 introduction of the toll designed for maintenance of Albania roads./p.s./
