TIRANA, March 11 /ATA/- Prime Minister Edi Rama on Sunday reiterated his appeal to the main opposition Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, to provide clarification to the prosecutors over Russian ties in DP’s lobbying funds.
Via a video posted on his Facebook page, the Prime Minister refers to a DP leader’s statement during the TV “Opinion” talk show, claiming he was unaware of the origin of a sum of half a million dollars the Biniatta Trade has transferred to Nick Muzin.
During the show, Basha denied any ties to the funding.
“$500 thousand. I don’t know. It was given to me without my consent. Without being aware of it. Even today, I don’t know anything! Another sum of $500 thousand?! This is nonsense man,” the Premier wrote on Facebook.
PM Rama goes on saying: “It is exactly this money you should provide clarification about to the Prosecution Office.”
“Who are these Russian donors who pay without asking you first?!” the Premier asks.
