TIRANA, March 9 /ATA/ – The Albanian Power Corporation (KESH) said Friday that situation three hydropower plants on Drin River cascade, northern Albania, is improving with the natural water inflows as of 17:00 hrs estimated at around 1160 cubic meters per second.
The state-run power utility KESH also said it will further reduce the water discharges and close the discharge gates at 23:00 hrs.
“Given the falling trend in water inflows and the weather forecast over the next few days and with the aim to contribute towards mitigation of operational aspects of the civil emergency response committee in the region of Shkodra, the Albanian Power Corporation decided to further reduce discharges by completely closing the discharge gates,” KESH said in a press release.
