TIRANA, Nov. 1 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama on Sunday renewed his invitation to students and academic staff taking part in ongoing protests to enter into dialogue, saying the government was ready to consider their proposals and address their concerns.
Rama took to the social media to share image of a stone table set up outside the prime minister’s office, bearing the inscription “Dialogue.”
Protesters have so far rejected the invitation, demanding the prime minister’s resignation and vowing to continue their demonstrations.
Rama has repeatedly said he is willing to examine any proposals put forward by students and academics. The government is also preparing a package of measures to address their needs, aiming to translate public concerns into concrete decisions and support.
Protests were held again on Saturday outside the Ministry of Education and the prime minister’s office, where clashes between police and demonstrators and incidents of violence were reported. Main opposition Democratic Party lawmakers and members also joined the demonstrations.
