TIRANA, Oct. 11 /ATA/ – The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, on Sunday condemned a Houthi attack against Saudi Arabia that reportedly caused fatalities and injuries.
“Albania condemns in the strongest terms the latest attack by the Houthi group against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in loss of life,” Hoxha said.
He said repeated attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels posed a direct threat to regional stability, endangered civilian lives and undermined efforts to promote peace and security in the region.
“There can be no justification for attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure,” Hoxha said, adding that those responsible must be held accountable.
He also expressed his deepest condolences to the victims’ families and full solidarity with the people and authorities of Saudi Arabia.
International media reported that a powerful explosion occurred on Saturday at Riyadh International Airport, killing several people and injuring dozens. Reuters, citing sources familiar with the incident, reported that 12 people had been killed and dozens more wounded.
