Tirana film festival makes PRIX VIMEO shortlist for third straight year

TIRANA, Oct 6 /ATA/ – The Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) has been named among 31 festivals on the PRIX VIMEO Shortlist 2027, which comprises festivals qualifying films for the European Film Awards.

It is the third consecutive year that the winner of TIFF’s Best European Short Film award has gone on to make the PRIX VIMEO shortlist.

The 2026 award went to Nobody Said Anything, directed by Tamara Todorović, a 15-minute co-production between Serbia, France, Slovenia and Croatia. The film was selected for TIFF’s programme of short films eligible for the European Film Awards.

The TIFF 2026 jury, comprising Hoda Taheri, John Canciani and Nikola Majdak, cited the film’s skilful build-up of tension and its nuanced depiction of mistrust and the gradual erosion of solidarity.

Nobody Said Anything tells the story of Katarina, who is summoned to the home of her daughter’s friend after an apparently innocent game spirals out of control.

The film had already secured international recognition before its screening at TIFF, having been selected for the official short-film competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. It was one of 10 films chosen from thousands of submissions.

TIFF said the third consecutive inclusion in the PRIX VIMEO shortlist was another recognition of the Albanian festival’s growing profile in the European short-film scene.

“Congratulations to the staff and the entire team,” TIFF said in a statement marking the achievement.
