TIRANA, Sept 30 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama on Wednesday welcomed European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at an official ceremony.
Following the playing of the European Union and national anthems, Prime Minister Rama and President von der Leyen proceeded to the Prime Minister’s Office, where they are due to hold bilateral talks.
Following the meeting, Prime Minister Rama and President von der Leyen are expected to hold a joint press conference.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is today beginning her tour of the Western Balkans in Tirana, with Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia also on her itinerary.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s agenda in Albania includes meetings with President of the Republic Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Von der Leyen’s Western Balkans tour is expected to focus on EU relations with the region and progress towards European integration.
