FM Hoxha meets new U.S. ambassador, highlights strategic partnership and investment opportunities

TIRANA, Sept. 30 /ATA/ – Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met on Wednesday with the new United States ambassador to Albania, Eric Wendt, reaffirming the importance of the bilateral relationship and the shared commitment to deepening cooperation.

Hoxha described the United States as one of Albania’s closest and most valued strategic partners.

“Our relationship is built on shared democratic values, a strong security partnership within NATO, and a long-standing friendship between our peoples,” he said.

He noted that the United States has played an important role at key moments in Albania’s history, providing a strong foundation for what he described as an increasingly deep and resilient strategic partnership.

Foreign Minister Hoxha said he looks forward to working closely with Ambassador Wendt to further strengthen bilateral ties, including by expanding economic and investment opportunities, enhancing cooperation on security and regional stability, and addressing global challenges that require close coordination among allies.

“For Albania, European Union membership-our foremost national priority-and a strong and lasting transatlantic partnership are two sides of the same coin. We remain fully committed to further strengthening our strategic partnership with the United States and our transatlantic ties in the years ahead,” Hoxha said.

He welcomed Ambassador Wendt to Albania and wished him success in his new role, expressing confidence in a close, productive and enduring partnership.
