TIRANA, September 25 /ATA/ – Sixteen businesses at the Future2Tech fair are focusing their presentations on the reuse, recycling, and recirculation of materials. The Ministry of Environment is also present with a stand dedicated to the circular economy.
Minister of Environment Sofjan Jaupaj announced that the 16 participating businesses—which specialize in the reuse and recycling of materials—have received support through the “EU for Circular Economy” program, with the aim of promoting circular economy models in Albania.
“I am here on the second day of the Future2Tech fair, where the Ministry of Environment has its own stand alongside 16 businesses funded through the ‘EU for Circular Economy’ program,” said Jaupaj.
According to him, the businesses involved in this initiative aim to demonstrate a concrete model for material recirculation, transforming materials into resources with economic value rather than letting them end up as waste.
“Through technology, recycling and reuse, what yesterday would have ended up in a landfill gains new value today, generating income and jobs while reducing waste in the environment,” the minister stated. Jaupaj emphasized that financial support for these enterprises has been provided through initiatives by the Albanian government, the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, while also noting the “Double Your Business” initiative.
“Shifting mindsets—and focusing on the reuse, recycling and recirculation of materials—is the only way to reduce the volume of waste in Albania,” Jaupaj stated.
Jaupaj added that, “supporting green enterprises aims to create more opportunities for the development of the circular economy and its expansion within Albania.” /e.i/r.e/a.f/p.s./
