Balla: Hague ruling ‘not justice’, KLA history cannot be erased

TIRANA, Sept 16  /ATA/ Taulant Balla, head of the Socialist Party’s parliamentary group, reacted today following the Specialist Chambers’ decision in The Hague sentencing former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders for war crimes.

Through a social media post, Balla described the Specialist Chambers’ ruling as unjust, stressing that the history and contribution of the Kosovo Liberation Army to the country’s liberation cannot be undone by any court decision.

“This decision today is not justice. The glorious history of the KLA cannot be undone in this way. Injustice!”

According to him, Albanians must stand in support of the Kosovo Liberation Army and defend the values of the struggle for freedom. Balla also called for pursuing all possible legal and judicial avenues to oppose the verdict.

Albanians must defend the KLA. We must defend freedom and the liberators from this unjust decision. We must find every legal and judicial path to overturn this ruling, because we must defend at all costs our identity as a nation, he said.
