95th protest against Zvërnec development project takes place in Tirana

TIRANA, September 2/ATA/ Citizens held today the routine protest against the investment in Zvërnec marking day 95 of the demonstrations.

After gathering in “Skanderbeg” square, the protesters marched along the “Martyrs of the Nation” boulevard toward the Prime Minister’s Office, where the organizers and participants delivered speeches.

The protest initially began as a reaction to the tourist investment project in Zvërnec, while in the following days the protesters’ demands have expanded to political and institutional issues.

The participants are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, the removal of what they consider to be the “old political caste”, as well as the repeal of the changes in the law on protected areas and the amendment of the electoral law.

Citizens are also demanding the release of 14 protesters, who were arrested yesterday during the tensions in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.

After the speeches delivered in the square in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, the protesters continued their march along the streets of Tirana.
