TIRANA, Aug 22 /ATA/ The wildfire that broke out on Mount Polis in Librazhd has been fully contained following a swift response by the municipal firefighting team and other state employees.
Librazhd Mayor Mariglen Disha said the situation had now returned to normal, adding that the rapid intervention had prevented the flames from spreading into a high-risk forested area.
He expressed particular thanks to the Librazhd municipal firefighting team, the Forestry Service, police, the village head and a group of local volunteers who took part in the operation.
Disha urged residents to exercise the utmost caution and avoid lighting fires, warning that during the current hot weather, even a small spark could cause extensive damage.
