81st consecutive protest held in Tirana over Zvërnec project

TIRANA, Aug 19 /ATA/ Citizens gathered in Tirana today to protest against the planned Zvërnec investment, marking the 81st consecutive day of demonstrations.

The protesters marched from Skënderbej Square to the Prime Minister’s Office, where they held a rally with banners and messages calling for political change.

The protest, which initially began as opposition to the alleged environmental impact of the planned tourism project in Zvërnec, has since broadened its focus to wider political, economic and social issues in the country.

During the protest, demonstrators voiced concerns over the economy, emigration, pensions, security and the functioning of state institutions, expressing their demands through banners and statements.

Protesters called for a change in the political leadership as the demonstration continued in the square outside the Prime Minister’s Office.
