Tax office steps up online commerce checks to ensure fair competition

TIRANA, August 17 /ATA/ Albania’s Tax Administration is increasing online monitoring to crack down on unregistered internet businesses. Through a new digital trade plan, officials aim to enforce tax rules, stop illegal sales, and ensure fair competition for all online stores.

As online business grows, the Tax Administration is stepping up its monitoring of digital transactions. “We ask all e-commerce and online service providers to follow current tax laws. Complying with these rules helps build a fair, competitive, and formal market,” said the Tax Office.
