TIRANA, Aug. 4 /ATA/ – Construction is nearing completion on two panoramic viewing platforms in the village of Llangë in eastern Albania, a project local authorities say will strengthen tourism infrastructure in the Steblevë area and the nearby Shebenik-Jabllanicë National Park.
The project, covering a total area of 500 square metres, is being implemented by the Municipality of Librazhd in cooperation with the National Youth Agency.
Librazhd Mayor Marenglen Disha, who inspected the works, said the viewing platforms would create a new attraction for visitors while showcasing the area’s mountainous landscape.
The platforms form part of a broader tourism development programme for Shebenik-Jabllanicë National Park that also includes the restoration of the Llangë spring, a zipline and an astronomical observatory near Lake Fushë Studen, Disha said.
He added that the project is in its final stage and is expected to support tourism and local economic development in Steblevë, one of the municipality’s most visited rural destinations.
According to Disha, the area has seen an increase in foreign visitors this year, with weekend arrivals reaching around 2,000 people. Between 400 and 600 international visitors arrive on weekends using campers, motorcycles and bicycles, he said.
Local authorities expect the investment to boost visitor numbers while promoting the area’s natural attractions and sustainable tourism.
