TIRANA, August 3/ATA/ A proposed amendment to Albania’s social housing law expands eligibility by raising the income limit from 1/6 to 1/2 of the average apartment market value, allowing middle-income families struggling with high housing costs to apply.
The income rule changes because housing costs are rising, which helps more people qualify for help.
The draft law introduces a sovereign guarantee for subsidized housing loans, promotes mixed-use projects and expands private sector involvement in the public social housing fund.
