TIRANA, July 30 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that the National Territorial Council approved the first permit under the Mountains Package at its meeting on Thursday, with the Hasani family from Theth becoming the first beneficiaries.
In a social media post featuring visuals of the approved project, Rama said the initiative allows heirs to invest in their ancestral properties and restore inherited family homes.
Prime Minister Edi Rama said the first permit under the Mountains Package was approved at Thursday’s meeting of the National Territorial Council for the Hasani family from Theth, who have decided to invest their savings in their ancestral land and return to Albania.
“Today, the National Territorial Council approved the first permit under the Mountains Package for the Hasani family from Theth, who have chosen to invest their savings in the land of their ancestors, in their hometown, and return to Albania,” Rama wrote.
According to the prime minister, the Mountains Package allows heirs, “by law and not only by tradition,” to restore their great-grandparents’ old homes or develop economic activities on inherited properties.
“This is the Mountains Package – the package for heirs, who can now, by law and not just by tradition, restore their great-grandparents’ old homes or develop agritourism, farming, livestock breeding and agricultural processing on their ancestral land,” Rama said, adding that “the rest, as Father Gjergj Fishta used to say, is pure nonsense.”
Regarding the progress of the Mountains Package programme, more than 400 development zones have been approved across 52 municipalities nationwide, while the number of approved applications has exceeded 1,200.
