TIRANA, July 25 /ATA/ The government’s “Double Your Enterprise” initiative offers companies loans up to two million euros,” Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu said today.
She visited an enterprise in Spitalla of Durrës where she presented the benefits and opportunities that this program offers to small and medium-sized businesses.
“Today, small and medium-sized enterprises make up 98% of the enterprises operating in the country, while only about a quarter of them manage to obtain loans from the financial institutions. This is precisely why we thought that the ‘Double Your Enterprise’ program is the right instrument to give these businesses the opportunity to grow and develop. In addition to financial support, the Ministry of Economy and Innovation will provide expertise in drafting business plans, so that applications are as complete and acceptable as possible by the banks,” said Koçiu.
the government guarantees 70% of the collateral through a sovereign guarantee while the loans will be given at low interest rates, from 2% to 3%, and with a repayment term of up to 10 years.
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Innovation Martin Kajo said that applications for the program will remain open until 2027.
