TIRANA, July 24 /ATA/ During the meeting of the Socialist Party Parliamentary group, Speaker of the Assembly Niko Peleshi highlighted the technological development of the Assembly. And he mentioned implementation of artificial intelligence for the automatic transcription of Parliamentary meetings, which aims to increase transparency and public access to the activities of the Assembly.
According to Peleshi, the system has been in operation for several months while training and self-improvement are underway.
“Following the first transcribed session, the Parliamentary committees have held 287 successfully transcribed meetings, totaling roughly 486 hours of audio. Today, every plenary session is transcribed and streamed live with subtitles on the Assembly YouTube Channel,” said Niko Peleshi.
Designed specifically for the Albanian Parliament, the automated transcription system converts MPs’ speeches into text in real time. Powered by an AI model trained on the Albanian language and parliamentary terminology, it accurately recognizes specific institutional names and Assembly vocabulary, said Peleshi. /e.i/j.p/p.s./
