TIRANA, July 24 /ATA/ Co-organized by the OSCE Presence in Albania and UN Women Albania, the Working Group on Gender Equality and Women in Decision-Making met to focus on boosting women’s local political representation and participation.
Public officials, civil groups, and global partners met to stop fake candidate tricks and sudden resignations of women on local councils. They also shared ideas to make political funding fairer for women during the ongoing election law updates.
The OSCE Presence said that since 2017, together with UN Women Albania, it has been co-leading this platform, which aims to strengthen cooperation between local institutions and international partners to promote equal opportunities for women in political and public decision-making in Albania. /gj.m/a.f/p.s./
