TIRANA, July 21 /ATA/- By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama spelled out today in Theth how the Mountain Package procedure will work for applicants seeking to benefit from the programme.
“Today, this land is registered as state property. This means that, from a legal standpoint, the owners do not have recognised possession of their property. The Cadastre records no other ownership in this area apart from the state. It is crucial to understand this, and that is why we introduced the one-euro scheme,” Rama said.
According to him, “once they obtain the permit, they will also receive ownership of the land for one euro within the designated perimeter.”
“Once construction is completed, they will receive the property title and the land will become theirs. That is the process, and it shows why the claims about businessmen, oligarchs or ‘aliens’ coming to the mountains to take the land inherited by people do not hold up,” Rama said.
According to Rama, anyone claiming otherwise is completely misinformed.
“No one is going to come and take Marian’s land here from the city because the government is bringing them here. That is a sick fantasy, just like the other claim that so-called oligarchs have gone and grabbed people’s land. They have not taken over any land. They have made agreements with existing owners, which is a completely different story,” Rama added.
