Balla: Civil Code amendments to advance EU integration

TIRANA, July 20/ATA/ Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary group Taulant Balla presented today in the Committee for Europe and Foreign Affairs the draft law on amendments to the Civil Code, appreciating it as another concrete step in the process of harmonizing Albanian legislation with the European Union law.

Balla addressed the lack of opposition participation in legislative proceedings, expressing his belief that they should actively return to Parliamentary work.

He argued that while Albania is at an important stage of the European Union membership process, every legal intervention that harmonizes our laws with European standards is critical to the process.

“The draft law specifies that a manufacturer’s liability to an injured party cannot be waived or restricted, either by contract or by statute”, stated Balla.

Balla presented today the changes to the Civil Code even to the Committee on Economy, Employment and Finance, as well as to the Committee on Legal Affairs and Public Administration. /m.m/j.p/p.s./
