Albanian flag featured in France’s Bastille Day parade, PM Rama says ‘proud of Albania’

TIRANA, July 14 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama attended France’s Bastille Day celebrations on Tuesday at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

Sharing images from the ceremony on social media, as members of Albania’s Armed Forces marched in the traditional military parade along the Champs-Élysées carrying the national flag, Rama wrote: “Proud of Albania.”

The participation of Albanian troops in the July 14 parade highlighted the country’s presence at France’s National Day celebrations, one of Europe’s most prominent military and state ceremonies.

On Monday, Rama attended the Coalition of the Willing summit on Ukraine in Paris, also at Macron’s invitation.

The meeting brought together heads of state and government, alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, to discuss coordination of international support for Ukraine.

Rama’s participation reaffirmed Albania’s commitment to supporting Ukraine, in line with its consistent position in defence of international law, Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and in close coordination with its Euro-Atlantic allies and partners.
