TIRANA, July 6 /ATA/ – Albania’s mountain tourism continues to gain momentum, with the Albanian Alps National Park attracting growing numbers of domestic and international visitors in the opening days of July.
One of the country’s most scenic natural destinations, the park is drawing hikers and outdoor enthusiasts eager to explore its rugged landscapes, rich biodiversity and extensive network of mountain trails.
Prime Minister Edi Rama on Monday shared images on social media of two foreign tourists spending their summer holiday in the Albanian Alps.
Characterised by dramatic mountain terrain, crystal-clear river valleys, deep gorges and high mountain passes, the Albanian Alps are widely regarded as one of the country’s premier destinations for nature and adventure tourism.
The region’s towering peaks are complemented by rivers including the Shala, Valbona, Curraj, Cemi and Moraça, as well as glacial lakes such as Peja, Jezerca, Dobërdol and Sylbica, offering visitors both tranquil scenery and opportunities for outdoor adventure.
Among the best-known peaks are Radohima, Maja e Hekurave, Maja e Arapit and Maja e Shkëlzenit, which provide sweeping panoramic views and attract hikers seeking to experience the area’s distinctive alpine landscapes.
