With visitor numbers 15% up, Rama argues that upgrading to luxury tourism is a critical economic and strategic move

TIRANA, June 27 /ATA/ Lezha’s tourism is booming, with a 15% increase in visitor registrations compared to last year. Prime Minister Edi Rama highlighted these figures released by Mayor Pjerin Ndreu, noting that this surge is a testament to the unstoppable momentum of both the region and Albania as a whole.

The prime minister views the shift to 5-star tourism as an economic and geostrategic imperative.

Meanwhile, Mayor Ndreu highlighted a record-breaking surge in European tourists visiting Lezha, adding to a strong base of domestic and Kosovo visitors.

Foreign tourists comprise roughly 20% of all visitors to the Shëngjin coast. The majority hail from Germany (20%), Poland (15%), Italy (10%), and the Czech Republic (10%), with additional travelers arriving from Switzerland, Sweden, and across Eastern and Central Europe.

These figures prove that Lezha and Shëngjin are emerging as highly sought-after tourist destinations regionally and internationally. /m.m/a.f/r.e/p.s./
