Government is laser-focused on implementing reforms and advancing EU integration

TIRANA, June 26 /ATA/ The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, was asked by journalists following today’s government meeting about the ongoing protest, now in its 26th day.

“My response relates to the number of acts we presented and approved at today’s Council of Ministers meeting. We are in a process that demands full attention. We are effectively in a race with ourselves for Albania’s integration into the European Union. It is a demanding timetable, with a large number of acts that must be adopted by 2027. It is extensive work that the government and public administration carry out every day and every night,” Ibrahimaj said.

“I see that there are a number of citizens protesting loudly while I am speaking, but there are 850,000 citizens who have entrusted the Socialist Party and Edi Rama with leading the country,” Minister Ibrahimaj said.

While Minister Ibrahimaj was briefing journalists on today’s government decisions outside the Prime Minister’s Office, a protest was taking place in front of the building, where a group of citizens used vuvuzelas to call for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
