Fier Memorial Hospital expands: Two new services launching soon

TIRANA, May 30 /ATA/ Fier Memorial Hospital is expanding its medical capacities with the launch of two new services: a Cardiac Surgery unit staffed by a joint Turkish-Albanian team and a Day Chemotherapy Cabinet. These additions will significantly improve patient access to high-quality, specialized care.

At the fifth-anniversary ceremony of the Memorial Hospital, Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Evis Sala, praised the institution as a model of success, professionalism, and trust. Serving thousands of citizens in the southern region, the hospital is now set to expand its specialized healthcare by introducing cardiosurgery and oncology departments.

Minister Sala highlighted two key health initiatives: expanding clinical training in partnership with the University of Medicine of Tirana, and modernizing hospital infrastructure. Citing the Memorial Hospital model, she explained that Albania’s healthcare sustainability is being driven by exact service costing, strategic third-party partnerships, and complete digital integration.

Celebrating 5 years since its 2021 inauguration, the Fier Memorial Hospital stands as a symbol of Albania-Turkey cooperation. It is Albania’s first hospital to implement managerial and financial autonomy, paving the way for a highly efficient and modern administration.
