Czech Republic: Diella outlines AI-driven public procurement reform

TIRANA, May 26 /ATSH/ Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Diella, outlined her vision and reform for the digitalisation of public procurement in Albania during the European Public Procurement Festival, held in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

On a panel dedicated to the role of artificial intelligence in procurement processes, Minister Diella presented the new electronic public procurement system, which is being developed in cooperation with experts from the World Bank and Albanian institutions.

In her remarks, Diella emphasized that the new system will bring a comprehensive transformation in the way public procurement procedures are conducted in Albania, ensuring transparency, speed, fairness, cost reduction, and de-bureaucratisation for both businesses and the public administration.

The system will interface with more than 40 state registries, eliminating the need for physical documents and enabling the use of electronic signatures and seals in every procedure.

Among other points, Minister Diella stressed that artificial intelligence is not intended to replace human judgement, but to strengthen both the administration and citizens through a fairer, more transparent, and more efficient system.

In the 22nd edition of the festival, more than 138 topics were addressed by 170 speakers across 10 different stages, with participants exchanging ideas on the future of procurement on the continent.

The eBF Festival is the largest European gathering of experts in the fields of public procurement, e-auctions, artificial intelligence, digitalisation, sustainability, and risk management.

Each year, the event brings together more than 1,000 professionals, business leaders, and procurement officials from institutions across Europe.
