Growth Plan, Rama: €49 million for Albania, financing based on concrete results

TIRANA, May 24 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Sunday that the European Union has approved another financial support package for Albania under the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

In his weekly notes, the head of government emphasized that this amounts to €49 million, bringing Albania’s total support so far to €212 million—the highest figure among countries in the region.

“Another financial support package from the European Union has come from Brussels. As the final phase of negotiations has been opened, another fund has simultaneously been launched for Albania under the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. The €49 million brings the total support so far to €212 million—the highest amount received among the countries of the region under the Growth Plan,” Rama said.

The head of government emphasized that the Growth Plan is based on concrete results certified by the European Commission.

“The Growth Plan is a financing scheme based on results, and these are results certified by the European Commission, indisputable in their objectivity. Because, unlike those who day and night spread claims and ultimately always lose, our Albania—the European Albania we are building—is a success story. A story not written with shouting, slander, or Molotov cocktails, but with vision, with work, with great patience, and with step‑by‑step dedication, reform after reform. So, congratulations to everyone and, above all, thank you! Thank you to every Albanian man and woman who believes, who supports, and who walks with us in this historic mission. Go Albania—nothing can stop European Albania!” Rama said.
