TIRANA, May 24 /ATA/ On Sunday, the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, issued a statement in response to accusations made by Prime Minister Edi Rama, asserting that the Prime Minister is misleading the Albanian people with regard to the IBAR report and the realities of the country’s European integration process.
The Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha stated that in the report adopted on May 21 the opposition did not write ‘a single word.’ However, according to him, the document reflects almost point by point all the major issues that the opposition has long reported.
In his statement, Berisha asserted that it is a gross deception to claim the protests were organized in response to the IBAR report. He emphasized that the demonstrations began in December, when Prime Minister Edi Rama shielded Belinda Balluku in an effort to defend himself.
